Awesome picture! Tho I support the Sachsen side sorry :P

Did u know that Tolkien made lord of the rings, to create a germanic epos for Britain?
He learned Old-English, Gothic and some German and searched in old germanic and german
legends for his book. For example Gandalf is inspired by a Wanderer on a german painting from Swabia.
The ring is from the holy book of the germanics, the Edda, as the ring "Draupnir".
And Elves, dwarfs etc. are very germanic anyway, even using runes^^

Of course! He also took huge inspiration from the Finnish Kalevala, rewriting his Elvish language after coming across Finnish.  The Sampo from the Kalevala was also a huge inspiration for the One Ring. Rivendell was inspired by a Swiss alpine valley he came across whilst walking in the Alps.  He took inspiration from a lot of places.

"Sachsen" is a region in geographically modern Germany! During several centuries A.D., many tribes, countless thousand individuals, travelled to settle in modern Britain, where they would again meet upon many old germanic folk, notably those from Angeln

Correction - THE WARLORD CHRONICLES. In the Brasil this trilogy has the name of Chronicles of Arthur (pt. Crônicas de Arthur).

Great stuff. Very impressed with the accuracy, for example the construction of the fort, and the late-Roman cavalry type armour.

Awesome detail and colouring, and a great sense of motion. I used to collect the old Warhammer years ago (Undead and Wood Elves) but I must admit that I would have rathered historical setting. The Romano Britons and the Samurai.

Yeah they've had a little department running for almost 10 years now or thereabouts. Lots of books for lots of periods. They don't produce any miniatures for them, but there's a thriving WAB (Warhammer Ancient Battles) community out there! The Age of Arthur book is very good I have to say, even if I am biased! :)
