I used Corel Painter, an Apple Mac, a Wacom tablet, some textures I made with paint and glue and dirt to paint this. A little bit of Photoshop to adjust my tonal levels and do the resizing and cropping for print.
I wish I had the time to do everything with traditional media, it woudl be lovely. Sadly I pretty much made my name in a digital painting style, and I have so much to get done in a day its impossible! One day perhaps I'll be able to switch back, and then realise I know nothing about trad media any more!
Wow, this explains why I recognized it! I've been looking through that book at my DM's house. She has almost all the books...
Anyway.
I have to say your art (now that I recognize your style I remember) was the best in that book. Wizards of the Coast has had some pretty good artists, but also some pretty crappy ones, and you're one of the best to top the pretty good ones.

The armor and shield looks great.
