Love it! The armor is darn-near to reality for a piece like this...nice to see an alternative to the mail bikini business.

I bought your book today "Fantasy art for beginners" annnd, there was something about this pic I didn't quite get^^

Is the heroine sticking her sword in the Drgaons head? Did it die by that? If so, where is the wound, the blood?

Or is she just poking it in the head?

Because it looks like she didn't even use her sword at it, or stab it. It just looks like..she's poking it's head, by the tiny tip of her sword, and I doubt a Dragon would die of that^^

Anyway, love your art, love your books. Keep up the good work!

Hi! Glad you like the work, and thanks for buying the book!

She's just resting the sword on it's dead head - almost posing for the picture if you like.

Like it a lot. Nice to see practical armour on a heroine character (Royo could take note). Only thing I'm not sure about is the creature, which doesn't seem formidable enough. The Dragony head seems a bit big for the snaky body. The body seems a bit weak.

oh noes! that poor dragon.. even if it was evil.
I love how you haven't made the heroine generic, or in any case girly, I love her face how she's like don't-make-me-kick-your-arse tone. Real Seriousness!
Though There should be gore splattered on her face and/or armour to make it seem like she had a real fight and not just stabbing roadkill she found :D :chainsaw:

You're outside your comfort zone with this one.

Right?

Is that a good or bad thing? I was a bit worried that this one, whilst separated by over a year from the recent DD is basically the same. So your thoughts would be welcomed!

Interestingly enough I've done a couple of more "pretty" women based images recently. I'll post the other one when I'm certain its cleared for showin'.

Well it's always a good thing, isn't it?

The reflections on her cheeks/jawline look surprisingly crisp to me. I hesitate to call this 'wrong' especially because I know a contrast issue on receding planes like that might look less dramatic on another monitor, but as I look at it here, it's almost like an 80s synth pop make-up job...Annie Lennox circa 1983 or so.

But I like it. The pink of the dead dragons neck has a very creepy effect.

80s syth pop make up? You say it as if its wrong! I liked the idea of her being quite Vivienne Westwood "ugly".

That said it is really quite artificially lit, and not consistent with the rest of it. What can I say. I'm naughty! ;)

She does have that look of the 80s warrior woman with the make-up, hair and headband. You've just given her much more protective armor than Red Sonja was ever allowed to wear.

But I can see her rollin' with Grace Jones, certainly.

Are you old enough to remember Toyah? Not sure if she made it across the pond...

I'm certainly old enough, but no, you're right, she really wasn't a part of the 80s British Invasion. Looked her up on wiki though and thems are some nice wigs. If she had made it over, I might have had a Toyah phase instead of a Boy George phase.

Makes one wonder how many other Bowie derivatives didn't make it to the US.
